Forking Paths is comprised of a dinner setting with items made by me using precious metals, cotton knits, wools, wood, and silks. Cutlery, plates, candle sticks, a table adorned with a table cloth, floating metal sculptures, my own body, and a multicolored jumpsuit. I believe that marrying these materials together further diversifies the universe I create. In the scope of this work, through creating my own reality, I am crafting a psychological narrative that delves deeper into my own individuation and transcendence to self-actualization. I did not want the entirety of this installation to revolve around the ritual aspect of a dinner but the transient nature of the self. In addition, I am producing my own space using virtual reality; a stark divergence to the craft aspect of this presentation paired with a soundtrack. Furthermore, using self-portraiture to display objects made, I am exploring the construction of the self.
