My thesis is about combining cultures and focuses on bridal jewellery and the cultural blessing it carries. As the name of my set of jewellery, zhu fu is the romanization system of Chinese character 祝福 which means blessing. The white wedding dresses, a signature of the bride, is being worn all over the world regardless of the bride’s cultural background. This is the same in my own country, China. In China, people who wear traditional outfits and head pieces are becoming rare. Therefore I want to include my culture in a more modern way and introduce it to the world. Inlay filigree, a jewellery technique that used often in royal goods have been the main technique I have used in my set of bridal jewellery. The luxury and complexity of the work can show the precious of the bride. ZhuFu。Blessing。祝福 is a set of nine pieces hair accessories which obtain individual blessing.
