Read a Person / Read a S(t)itch is the manifestation of my interests into costume design, my passion for tabletop roleplaying games, and a representation of my queer identity through characters I play in tabletop role-playing games.
This collection consists of costumes for three different characters I play in three different game systems of tabletop role-playing games. The characters and respective systems in question are Alphi Greene, a divination wizard from Dungeons and Dragons; Ford McMillan, a beastly changeling from Changeling: The Lost; and Xerox, an augmented human decker from Shadowrun.
All these characters exist as fragmented representations of my queer self and how it manifests within these different game worlds and how my queerness is expressed through play. Through my collection of costumes I will show a reflection of queer identity as I perform it through play and give a look into the queer experience in tabletop roleplaying.
